As part of ensuring a safe church environment for all people, particularly children and vulnerable adults, the lay authorisations process outlines requirements for lay people with roles in our parishes and congregations to obtain National Police Checks, Working with Children Checks and attend Safe Church Workshops.
The policy outlines the various roles within our churches and the clearances required for each role, with supporting documentation and step by step instructions on how to obtain these clearances.
This guidebook provides an outline of the process along with step by step instruction on how to obtain the required clearances for lay people within parishes and congregations according to the lay authorisations policy.
It includes instructions for a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
Each of the documents in the guide book can also be accessed individually.
This consent form is complete for an person wishing to obtain a National Police Check.
This is processed through the Registry Office.
